Since opening its doors in the Central City Antiques District in 2015, Thistle Patch Vintage Garden & Antiques has been providing unique home décor while building meaningful friendships with customers. From statement antiques to stylish contemporary touches, each piece is selected to help create spaces that feel inviting and personal. For owner Renee Lewin-Williams, opening Thistle Patch was about more than just starting a business. It was about turning a well-loved hobby into something that could serve the entire community.

“I want the people of Huntington especially to know that they can they have a store that's personalized to them,” said Renee. “A store that has made the investment in the community to be here and provide great things.”

That perspective continues to shape the way Thistle Patch operates each day. Blending old and new styles, Thistle Patch is a carefully curated antique and home décor shop that brings history and style together under one roof.

“I decided to come to this space is because of the historic nature of the building,” said Renee. “And I love the backdrop that we have of the original businesses, especially the old pharmacy space. I worked hard to make that space look the way it looked back when and try to carry things that pay homage to that business and then some.”

As a new member of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, Renee is excited to become even more connected to the local business community. Joining the Chamber reflects her desire not only to grow Thistle Patch, but also to build lasting relationships with fellow community members. With a strong appreciation for character and history of the area, she hopes the shop becomes more than just a place to buy décor, but a welcoming space that contributes charm and vibrancy to the community.

“I’ve seen that Huntington has changed and grown in so many ways that I think are very positive. I hope that people will venture out this way a little bit more and forget about the stereotypes. I love the city.”
