Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Awarded Community Grant from Foundation for the Tri-State
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it has received a Community Grant from the Foundation for the Tri-State Community to support the Chamber’s Nonprofit Roundtable. This grant will allow the Chamber to continue its Nonprofit Roundtable Speaker Series, which provides valuable, no-cost professional development opportunities for nonprofit leaders throughout the region.
“The Foundation for the Tri-State recognizes the critical need for low- or no-cost professional development opportunities to enable nonprofit leaders to build the expertise necessary to maximize their organizational effectiveness, and ultimately, strengthen our entire community,” said Kathryn Lamp, CEO of the Foundation for the Tri-State. “We are proud to support the Huntington Regional Chamber and its efforts to provide these essential opportunities for the area's nonprofit leaders."
Megan Archer, President and CEO of the Chamber added, “This grant allows us to continue expanding the resources and support available to the incredible nonprofit organizations serving our community. By investing in the growth and development of nonprofit leaders, we help ensure stronger programming, greater impact and a more connected and vibrant region. We are incredibly thankful to the Foundation for believing in this work and in the organizations that make our community stronger every day.”
The Chamber’s Nonprofit Roundtable, chaired by Julie Childers, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Huntington Inc., brings together leaders from nonprofits throughout Cabell and Wayne counties to share resources, best practices, and professional development opportunities. With the support of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community, the Roundtable will continue to empower local organizations to enhance their operations, increase their impact and build lasting community connections.
“With the Pallottine Foundation’s support last year, we launched a professional development workshop series that has already strengthened the skills and capacity of nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers across our region. This new investment allows us to continue that momentum—bringing in speakers and specialists that most organizations would not have the resources to access on their own,” said Childers. “When nonprofits have access to shared learning and professional development, everyone benefits—families, communities, and the organizations working hard every day to serve them. I’m also grateful to the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce for recognizing the importance of our nonprofit sector and supporting this work. Together, these partnerships are helping build a stronger, more connected, and more effective nonprofit community.”
