OPPORTUNITY ZONES & HOW THEY CAN BENEFIT THE ECONOMY OF THE HUNTINGTON REGION TO BE EXPLAINED AT APRIL 2 LUNCHEON
On Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Noon, the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO) will host a luncheon to explain Opportunity Zones, a federal government program that allows investment in specific geographic locations to jumpstart economic opportunities through tax incentives. Speakers will include Joshua Jarrell with Steptoe & Johnson PLLC and representatives with United States Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito.
“Opportunity Zones give our region another tool in our economic toolkit to attract investment to West Virginia,” said Dr. Bill Bissett, President & CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber. “After Senator Capito brought U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina to Huntington, who was the architect of Opportunity Zones, we now have a better understanding of what this program means for our region. It is important that existing and potential investors understand how this program can not only benefit their portfolio, but also create new jobs and opportunities here at home.”
The Opportunity Zone luncheon will occur at the St. Mary’s Conference Center, which is located at 2849 Fifth Avenue, Huntington, WV. Lunch will be served. To RSVP, contact the Huntington Regional Chamber at 304-525-5131 or by email at email@example.com.
