Greater Huntington Walks has announced its second quarterly challenge for 2019.
The challenge will be “Ballparks of America,” which will allow walkers to virtually travel to Major League baseball stadiums across the country, starting with Fenway Park in Boston and ending with T-Mobile Field in Seattle. The new challenge will begin April 1. All quarterly goal steps will be counted toward the 2019 overall collective goal of 5 million miles.
“We’ve had a lot of fun with the first quarterly challenge and so we’re excited to begin this one,” said Andy Fischer, chair of the Greater Huntington Walks committee. “Baseball is very popular in our area, so we know our walkers will really enjoy learning about the ballparks across the country while they work toward their individual walking goals and our collective goal of 5 million miles.”
All registered walkers who complete 200,000 steps per month from April to June will be entered into a drawing for a special weekend in Cincinnati. The winner of the first quarterly challenge prize, a trip for two to Myrtle Beach, will be drawn live on the Greater Huntington Walks Facebook page Tuesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. with the help of the prize sponsors, Huntington Tri-State Airport and Travel Doctors, Inc.
