With Huntington, W.Va. strategically located within 500 miles of two-thirds the United States population, the region is poised for progress in the 21st century. Interstate 64 runs through the area connecting residents to Lexington, Ky. in a mere two hours, while Charleston, W.Va., the state capitol, is less than an hour away.

Travelers in the region can choose from two airports. Huntington’s Tri-State Airport approxiamtely 15 minutes from downtown Huntington, (304) 453-6165, and Charleston’s Yeager Airport approximately 45 minutes from Huntington, (304) 344-8033, offer 58 flights per day including non-stop flights to Charlotte, Cincinnati, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Huntington Tri-State Airport recently added three non-stop flights to Florida at Orlando-Sanford, Fort Lauderdale, and Tampa Bay via St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport.

Huntington was founded as a town served by river and rail and that tradition continues. The Huntington region is home to the largest port on the Ohio River and two major railroad companies, CSX and Norfolk Southern, traverse the landscape.

The region is also home to 16 motor freight truck companies.

Local travelers have access to a bus system that is second to none. The Transit Authority is an easy and affordable means by which residents can navigate the region. Whether it’s someone who needs a ride downtown for work or a trip to the Huntington Mall for some shopping, the region’s bus system is safe, reliable and always right on time.
